February 27, 2015 – First on Inside Universal – Universal has increased the ticket price for Buy a Day, Get 2015 Free to $95 up from $92, Inside Universal has learned. Similarly, it appears that Universal has reintroduced the 1-Day Pass option as an online exclusive, after dropping the option entirely earlier this year. Online purchases for the 1-Day Pass are now $92 – an increase from the previous 1-Day Pass of $87 before its discontinuation. Universal’s 50th Anniversary Yesterday, Universal released information regarding the park’s plans to celebrate its 50th anniversary with three tent pole announcements: Fast & Furious: Supercharged, the Nighttime Studio tour and Springfield alongside some other smaller revelations. While not entirely surprising or revealing to readers of Inside Universal, Universal’s announcement does clarify some of the park’s plans that have long been speculated by members of our community. February 5, 2015 – According to a new map released by CityWalk Hollywood, the Universal Studio Store will indeed be expanding into the former Things From Another World location, as Inside Universal originally reported last September. Following the closure of GameStop last August, Universal relocated Things From Another World from its original location adjacent to the Universal Studio Store and Jody Maroni’s Sausage Kingdom to a new location near 5 Towers. February 1, 2015 – In preparation for NFL Super Bowl XLIX, Universal released a new advertisement for the up-coming Fast & Furious: Supercharged animation on the Studio Tour. Featuring Rita Ora, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel alongside two theme park guests, the advertisement depicts a drag race through the streets of a large metropolis, with scenes of carnage and explosions filling the 30 second spot. The advertisement promises an experiences that’s “more than a movie,” with Rodriquez, Johnson and Diesel guiding guests through city streets. January 25, 2015 – After a brief hiatus, Things From Another World has completed its relocation to a new location formerly occupied by Game Stop, which closed late last year. Featuring a larger interior, the new Things From Another World store is lightly decorated with a red and white theme with franchise posters mounted on the ceiling.
