The Peanuts Celebration is back to kick off 2024 at Knott’s. Let’s see how the year is rolling out! After putting away all the Merry Farm decorations, the park gets a light coating for the next few weeks as we’re in a, typically, low-key time prime for construction and refurbishment of popular summertime attractions, like the log ride. Last year, Knott’s put some mighty big plans into motion. Early in the year, they bid farewell to MonteZOOMa’s Revenge, an aging and award-winning coaster. Since 2016, Knott’s has celebrated the summer season with Ghost Town Alive in the parks, an award-winning live-action role-playing event for all ages taking place entirely in the semi-fictional town of Calico. Each year the story progresses, giving the incentive to visit regularly and interact with the fantastic citizens in the town. Progressing in semi-realtime, the year is 1892. In less than a week, Knott’s kicks off one of their biggest events of the year. It’s an institution that’s gone from tongue-in-cheek joke we all secretly enjoyed to a full-blown love affair. Last weekend, wrapped up the return of Season’s Screamings. The first one took place in 2021, because while October was a tad too risky for a big convention, the early December window seemed more favorable. That led to a wintery theme – on top of the usual fun of Midsummer Scream.
