Universal Orlando has announced it will resume billing monthly payments for annual passholders using the FlexPay program beginning on June 25, 2020. Monthly payments were postponed on March 25, 2020, after the resort shut down due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Monthly payments will resume on the passholders regularly scheduled payment date, starting with the first postponed payment. Payments will continue until the end of the term. Universal states that no more than one payment per month will be collected unless your account has a past due balance. The Bourne Stuntacular has opened at Universal Studios Florida for technical rehearsals, giving guests a chance to see the new stunt show before it officially opens to the public. Guests can virtually run in a 5K, 10K or Kids’ 1K “Running Universal” Virtual Race. Registration is now open at www.RunningUniversal.com with multiple standard and VIP packages available. For those unfamiliar, a “Soft Opening” is essentially a technical rehearsal of a new attraction or a final release candidate test. Universal Orlando opened up its theme parks to guests for the first time since its March closure due to the Coronavirus pandemic, with new guidelines. Passholders were amongst the first to check out the new procedures before the theme parks officially opened to the general public on Friday. Universal Orlando’s plans based on the “3 S’s” – screening, sanitization, and spacing – including face mask requirements, temperature screenings for employees and guests, reduced capacity, and improved cleaning and sanitization procedures. Universal has released this year’s “Love is Universal” edition, a line of pride merchandise that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community. Besides common items, such as shirts, mugs, and pins, there is also a “Love is Universal” facemask for sale ($6) Universal will donate 10% of the proceeds to the Zebra Coalition, an organization helping with housing and support systems for LGBTQ+ youth. Pride Month, which kicked off on June 1st, commemorates the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969 and recognize the impact LGBTQ+ people have had in the world.
