After almost 2 months of the attraction’s closure, Universal has finally removed the Shrek 4D entrance signage and murals on the show building. The sign for Shrek’s Ye Olde Souvenir Shoppe was also removed. Shrek 4D officially closed its doors on Sunday, January 9th, 2022. Universal has not provided any details or information as to what will replace Shrek 4D, but it’s clear we’re getting something with the Minions.

After a 2-year absence, Rock the Universe returned to Universal Orlando, holding its weekend event at Universal Studios Florida. Rock the Universe allows fans and youth groups to come together to enjoy performances by some of Christian music’s top artists, powerful worship experiences, and of course, Universal’s theme park attractions. It’s “full steam ahead” for Universal Orlando’s newest theme park, Epic Universe. During a Comcast Earnings Call this morning, Jeff Shell, NBCUniversal CEO, discussed the opening time frame of the highly-anticipated theme park, stating that it will be open by summer 2025. “We expect that park to open 2025, and certainly in time for the summer of 2025. Sahara Traders, the gift shop at the exit of Revenge of the Mummy, has closed as Universal begins to transition the location into a Universal Monsters Tribute Store. Unfortunately, not much is known – including an opening timeframe other than “Coming Soon”. The change is temporary while Revenge of the Mummy undergoes its lengthy refurbishment.
