It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Scarezone setup is underway at Universal Studios Florida as the park gets ready for Halloween Horror Nights 31. The first props have appeared down Hollywood, and appear to be “Crypts”. As of now, no scarezones have been announced so speculate away. Most of the other setup around the park has been truss towers for scarezone lighting, especially in San Francisco and Central Park. Shrek and Donkey have a new home in Kidzone. The popular meet and greet experience is back, now located in the KidZone area of the theme park – right next to DreamWorks Destination. The location used to serve as Barney’s Gift Shop. The original Meet & Greet location closed last month for a new, yet-to-be-announced experience. This meet and greet brings guests face to face with fan-favorite characters from the famous DreamWorks Animation film franchise, Shrek, most notably Shrek and his noble steed, Donkey. SeaWorld has announced more details for this year’s Howl-O-Scream event, with Beneath the Ice returning as a haunted house. Beneath the Ice will be newly reimagined. Universal Studios Hollywood has added a new section to the Universal Studio Store, inspired by the upcoming Super Nintendo World, opening in early 2023. The new section features apparel, collectibles, and a fun photo opportunity for guests. Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood will transport theme park guests and Nintendo fans into the world of Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach to become part of their compelling universe. Universal Studios Hollywood has announced the addition of the original Jupiter’s Claim set from Jordan Peele’s upcoming new horror epic, Nope, will be featured as a new attraction on the world-famous Studio Tour, beginning July 22.  The Jupiter’s Claim set was created by Production Designer Ruth DeJong, then carefully disassembled post-production and transported to Universal Studios Hollywood where it was meticulously reconstructed on site, complete with original props and details from the film. Knott’s Berry Farm is celebrating National Fried Chicken Day on July 6 by inviting guests to Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant for the opportunity to enjoy their famous fried chicken. Guests on this day will have the opportunity to experience special restaurant photo-ops and commemorative National Fried Chicken Day pins available for purchase at Virginia’s Gift Shop to celebrate the special occasion. Skechers has permanently closed at CityWalk Hollywood. The closure seemingly came from nowhere, as no announcement was ever given. Currently, the store is full of boxes as they finish clearing out the location. No word on a replacement has been announced at this time. A new Starbucks location will be opening soon at CityWalk Hollywood. The popular coffee shop is currently under construction where the long-closed Karl Strauss Brewing Co. restaurant once called home. SeaWorld Orlando has announced new details for this year’s Howl-O-Scream 2022 event, including the return of a reimagined Captain’s Revenge haunted house, a new scarezone, and more. Returning for its 2nd year, Captain’s Revenge will be “newly-imagined” – now featuring the subtitle, Drowned in Darkness. Universal Orlando has announced the much-anticipated return of Loews Royal Pacific Resort’s Wantilan Luau – the festive, family-friendly luau and dinner show. The Wantilan Luau will be held Saturdays at 6:00 pm. The dining event takes place in an outdoor covered pavilion.
