DreamWorks Destination, Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster, Fievel’s Playground, Curious George Goes to Town, and the new Shrek Meet & Greet had one final round of goodbyes on Sunday, January 15; with team members getting the official last ride on the Nuthouse Coaster shortly after the park closed at 9 pm. Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen is set to open on January 27, 2023 at CityWalk Hollywood per Universal Studios Hollywood’s official website. While no other information has been released, including the menu, Universal states it will feature “eclectic brunch, lunch, and dinner items, sumptuous milkshakes and desserts, and delectable confectionary treats”. Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen replaces Hard Rock Cafe, which closed in 2020.
Animal Actors and the Special Effects Show have officially closed at Universal Studios Hollywood. The Production Central store will close later this week. Huge crowds came to pay their final respects to both shows on Sunday, with the final performances for each show having extremely long lines; to the point where guests needed to be turned away due to capacity. Florida’s biggest Christian music festival, Rock the Universe, is back at Universal Orlando from January 27-29. The event, which began in 1998, is celebrating its 25th anniversary of “faith, fun, and fellowship”. Each night, some of Christian music’s biggest artists will perform across Universal’s three stages – the Music Plaza Stage, the Hollywood Stage, and the Coca-Cola FanZone Stage. This year’s headliners include GRAMMY-nominated rock band, Skillet, Northern Irish folk-rock worship band, Rend Collective, Dove award-winning band, Bethel Music, and more.
