Universal Orlando has scheduled Tot Tiki Reef at Volcano Bay for refurbishment. The area will be closed from February 9, 2024, until February 16, 2024. Please keep in mind that these dates can change. Tot Tiki Reef is a part of Runnamukka Reef, the water play area for children. Universal usually schedules maintenance for its water rides and attractions during the colder months, especially as attendance is softer. Universal Orlando is adding a “Monster Makeover: Become the Monster!” experience to Universal Studios Florida. Unfortunately, details are mum at the moment – but it appears a makeover-style experience is coming to the 5 & Dime in the Hollywood section of Universal Studios Florida. No opening date has been announced, but a sign on the experience’s entry door states “Coming Soon”. In 2024, the World-Famous Studio Tour will celebrate a milestone of 60 years at Universal Studios Hollywood. The Studio Tour is an integral part of Universal Studios Hollywood, as the addition of the tour led to the development of Universal Studios Hollywood as a theme park. To celebrate the momentous Diamond anniversary, Universal will be adding “exciting entertainment” to the Studio Tour, however, more information about those additions will be shared at a later time. Today marked the end of an era as Universal Studios Japan permanently closed The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. Located in the New York section of the park, the ride opened on January 23, 2004. The “Final Campaign” – which started last July – saw guests come out and get one last ride before the attraction closed for good. There was even an official “Final Ride” Countdown clock to mark the occasion. Universal Studios Japan posted an official goodbye on social media. Universal Orlando has announced more information on this year’s Mardi Gras event, including the concert line-up and this year’s theme. 2024’s Universal’s Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval will run daily from February 3 through April 7, 2024. This year’s Mardi Gras parade theme will bring the elements to life in six new, beautifully designed parade floats inspired by Earth, wind, fire, water, the sun and the moon. Universal Studios Hollywood has announced its Discover A Star Foundation has raised over $1 million in 2023 to benefit nonprofit groups within Los Angeles County that empower individuals and families to lead more fulfilling lives.
