Welcome back to February’s photo update around a rainy CityWalk and Universal Studios Hollywood. This month, we take a look at some new updates around the park, especially after the Grand Opening of the long-awaited and highly-anticipated Super Nintendo World on February 17th, 2023.

    Here we go!

    Park Update Index

    » CityWalk Hollywood
    » Super Nintendo World
    » Production Central
» A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

    CityWalk Hollywood

Signage leading guests to the theme park can be seen near the Buca di Beppo sign.

The lettering on the former Fossil store has been taken down.

    Super Nintendo World

The time has finally come and Super Nintendo World has officially opened at Universal Studios Hollywood! You can read our REVIEW here.

To celebrate, the entrance of the park has been decorated with many red banners with some of our favorite Mario characters.

The wording on the windows and screen displays in stores inside of the park has also been changed to “NOW OPEN.”

The signage on the way to the Lower Lot displays information regarding Super Nintendo World and also provides the wait time for Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge before guests make their way down.

The Studio Directory also provides additional information to guests regarding the Virtual Line Reservations to the land depending on crowd conditions. Signs pointing to Super Nintendo World can also be seen in the Jurassic World area.

A few menu items have been added to the Toadstool Cafe since the technical rehearsals. In addition to the dishes that were previously available, Chef Toad is now serving the Super Mushroom Soup, Tomato Soup in Super Mushroom Bowl, and the Chef Toad Short Rib Special.

While supplies last, commemorative Grand Opening merchandise such as a pin, magnet, badge holder, poster, puzzle, and t-shirts are available for purchase wherever Super Nintendo World merchandise is being sold. There is a limit of 2 items per style, per transaction for these items.

A Mario Kart Popcorn Bucket has also arrived and is being sold for $42.99. Free popcorn refills are available on the day of purchase.

    Production Central

The Production Central located right across from the entrance of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is open once again following a brief closure. The store is offering merchandise for 50% off (excluding posters, rain gear, and drinks). Merchandise such as apparel and collectibles from films such as Harry Potter as well as Back to The Future along with others are available for purchase!

A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

A digital screen has been added next to the Studio Tour Entrance.

That’ll do it for this month’s photo update. As always, we wish you well and thank you for following our continuing coverage of Universal Parks and Resorts!
