No Limit! Halloween; Halloween Horror Nights returns to Universal Studios Japan starting September 11

Universal Studios Japan has announced that their Halloween events – including No Limit! Halloween Celebration and Halloween Horror Nights – will return to the park for 2021; running from September 11th through November 7th.

This year, GeGeGe no Kitaro!, the popular Japanese manga, will be featured as a maze in the event. In an eerie abandoned village, guests become prey for horrifying yōkai (supernatural entities and spirits in Japanese folklore). When the dependable Kitaro suddenly runs out of power, guests roam lonely in the dark as they’re attacked in all directions by the evil spirits. (Requires a timed entry ticket and will be held all day.)

The famous detective Sherlock Holmes will be featured in a full-scale horror theater experience in “Sherlock Holmes – The Cursed Rose Sword”. Holmes is present in a murder case with a cursed guest at a movie screening. Guests can engage in the experience, which features integrated video and show elements.

In the all-new “Psycho Street”, guests encounter zombies that are brainwashed to attack when the DJ’s music plays. “Zombie de Dance” is back and will be featured around the park, where guests can join zombies and monsters dancing.

In the daytime, “No Limit! Halloween” guests can enjoy some family fun, meeting the Minions in new Halloween costumes and the friends from Snoopy, Hello Kitty, and Sesame Street. At Universal Wonderland, “Wonderland NO LIMIT! Halloween Joy” will be held, where characters in Halloween costumes will welcome guests. Kids will get a special sweet treat if they say “Trick or Treat” to one of the crew.

A limited-time market with Halloween horror foods will be open, featuring foods inspired by popular horror movies such as Dracula, Frankenstein, Chucky, and characters from GeGeGe no Kitaro.

The event was cancelled last year due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This year, Universal Studios Japan is taking precautions – including increased sanitary practices. Visitors are required to purchase a studio pass in advance, and guests with Annual Passes are required to make a reservation in advance.
