Howl at the Moon
As has been the case for the past few months, the former location of Howl at the Moon on the upper level of CityWalk remains vacant and unchanged.
NBC Sports Grill & Brew
Construction continues to wrap up on NBC Sports Grill & Brew, both inside and out. Additional tables have been added to the front and side patio seating areas, and a sign displaying future operating hours – 11:00AM to 2:00AM – has also been placed on the front doors of the restaurant. A supersized NBC logo now also adds some extra charm to the side patio area, while the big screen and all of the TV monitors continue to play sports footage without interruption.
Toothsome Chocolate Emporium
As work remains paused on the transformation of the Hard Rock Café into Toothsome Chocolate Emporium, not much has changed since our most recent update. Hard Rock signage can still be found scattered around the building as a show of the temporary construction hiatus.
CityFood
The former location of Smashburger continues its transformation into The Habit Burger Grill on the upper level of CityWalk.
Subway has recently closed, with no announcement of a future replacement as of this update.
Sublime Gifts & Finds
The former location of Sublime Gifts & Finds remains empty and unchanged.
Production Central
Production Central – sporting the same name as the store inside the park – has recently opened in CityWalk in the former location of the Element Apparel store, now operating Friday through Sunday. While the Universal Studio Store mostly sells general merchandise based off of popular IPs, Production Central offers a wider selection of in-park merchandise, including that based off of the Universal Monsters, Back to the Future, and Jurassic Park.
Reopenings
Vivo Italian Kitchen has returned with a modified menu, serving only pizza, side salads, and a limited number of soda and alcoholic beverages for the time being.
After shutting down shortly after the grand reopening of CityWalk in June, Blaze Pizza has once again reopened for regular operations.
A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That
The Universal Studio Store has been restocked with the popular retro-style collectible glasses, as well as additional “Love is Universal” merchandise.
The Universal Studios Hollywood main gate is quiet as the theme park remains closed, with no reopening plans announced as of this update. Visible off to the side of the front entrance of the park, the Halloween Horror Nights maze located in the WaterWorld queue has yet to be taken down, despite the event’s recent cancellation.
