During a Q4 earnings conference call this morning, Comcast executives confirmed that Super Nintendo World will be a part of Universal Orlando’s new theme park, Universal’s Epic Universe, opening in 2023.
During the call, Comcast executives were commenting on the upcoming opening of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan, “From a creative standpoint it’s really unbelievable and that opens sometime – midyear this year and then we’re going to bring it to Hollywood and we’re going to bring it, obviously, in the fourth gate in Florida.”
Executives continued on how they feel Nintendo is the next big thing for theme parks, “Nintendo, based on our research, is one of the biggest potential drivers of attendance that you could have of any kind of IP. It’s up there with Harry Potter”.
It has been rumored for some time that Super Nintendo World would be one of the featured lands in Universal’s Epic Universe.
Outside Orlando, Super Nintendo World will open across all Universal Parks, including Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Studios Singapore, and Universal Studios Japan – opening later this year.
The Epic Universe expansion will feature a theme park, an entertainment center, hotels, shops, restaurants and more. With close 570 acres of empty land, Universal’s Epic Universe expansion is roughly the same size as their current Resort property.
