Universal’s Endless Summer Resort
Painting continues on the Surfside Inn side, with one of the murals located at the end of each building being completed this week. The main entrance overhang also continues to be worked on. In addition, works and landscaping have begun around the pool area. A new concept art banner has been hung up around the construction fences showing what the entrance should look like when completed.
Over on Dockside, the first building’s framework is almost completed – while the footers of the other buildings are beginning to rise. Reservations for both sides of the Resort are now being accepted.
Emeril’s Replacement
Painting and construction continues on the unnamed replacement – but seems to have slowed down over the Holidays.
Harry Potter Coaster
Themeing continues on the Abbey building and the hut, with some new framework being erected around the castle – but with a lot of the vantage points being blocked by trees, we cannot see what else has been completed. With the attraction set to open this year, we hope we hear something soon!
Jurassic Park Project
Construction walls have been set-up around certain areas of Jurassic Park, as initial preparations for a new project heading to the area are underway. Most the walls have been setup around the perimeter of the former Triceratops Encounter. The Carnival games have been removed near the Jurassic Park River Adventure. Over by the Discover Center, the lagoon view has been blocked off and foliage has started to be removed.
The Raptor Encounter should be closing soon so it can be relocated to another area of the park while construction is taking place. The bypass bridge, which connects Jurassic Park to Lost Continent, was closed as well to accommodate construction. A sign was placed informing guests that it will be reopening over the Summer.
Beverly Hills Boulangerie Replacement
Demolition on the former quick service cafe has been quick, with the interior completely gutted. Still no official word as to what will be replacing the Boulangerie.
New 2019 Merchandise
Several new items for 2019 are now for sale at Universal, including lanyards, t-shirts, cups, and posters. In addition, a new set of 2019 pins have also been released.
Rock the Universe
Setup for the event has begun, with the main stage starting to add lighting & sound rigs and the secondary stage being erected in Hollywood. Florida’s biggest Christian music festival will take place on all-new dates, Feb. 1 and 2, and feature live performances and worship services.
A Little Bit of this, A Little Bit of that
Dr. Doom’s Fear Fall recently completed the transition to new restraints, which now do not include a seat belt.
A new cart selling Funko merchandise is now located in Hollywood.
