It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The world’s premier Halloween event, Halloween Horror Nights, opens tonight at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort.
This year, both coasts will be bringing the world of Netflix’s Stranger Things to life in an all-new haunted house; where guests must enter the Upside-Down and come face-to-face with the monstrous Demogorgon.
Universal is going all-in with Stranger Things, with many of this year’s merchandise features elements from the popular show. Many of this year’s food & drink items will also be inspired by Stranger Things.
In addition, mazes based on Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Poltergeist, Trick ‘r Treat, and The Horrors of Blumhouse will be shared between Orlando and Hollywood.
Exclusive to Hollywood, guests can enjoy mazes The First Purge, Universal Monsters, and this year’s Terror Tram – which centers around the infamous phantom clown, Hollywood Harry. Scare zones this year include Trick ‘r Treat, Monster Masquerade, Hell’s Harvest, Holidayz in Hell, and Toxxic Tunnel. The Jabbawockeez, the acclaimed, award-winning hip hop dance crew, also returns with an all-new performance.
Over at Universal Orlando, the event features a heavy influence of the 80’s era. Guests can experience five original haunted houses created by the minds of Universal Orlando’s Entertainment team, including Dead Exposure: Patient Zero, Slaughter Sinema, Carnival Graveyard: Rust in Pieces, Seeds of Extinction and Scary Tales: Deadly Ever After.
For scare zones, five highly-themed scare zones will invade the streets of Universal Studios Florida, two of which are based on classic ‘80s horror icons – Killer Klowns from Outer Space and Revenge of Chucky – as well as three original concepts – Vamp 85: New Year’s Eve, The Harvest and Twisted Tradition. Academy of Villains will be returning for a 3rd year, combining dance, acrobatics, and theatrics with an all-new show called, Cyberpunk.
Halloween Horror Nights takes place at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Florida, running on select dates through November 3.
