After closing July 1st, Universal Studios Hollywood has begun demo work on the Globe Theater, starting with the removal of some of the facades down Baker Street.
During the demolition process, The Walking Dead Attraction will have minimal impacts. TV monitors in the queue have been moved off of the Globe Theater. In addition, the entrance to the maze is now under protective scaffolding. It is believed that the helicopter at the entrance will be removed.
The theater originally opened in 1999 and has been used for corporate and other events.
There has been no official announcement from Universal Studios Hollywood in regards to what is planned for the area.
Earlier this year, we reported the theater was set to be demolished to make way for the long-rumored Secret Life of Pets attraction – but, again, those plans have not been confirmed by Universal.
