Cirque du Soleil has acquired Blue Man Productions, the entertainment company of the Blue Man Group.
The transaction is in line with Cirque du Soleil’s vision for the future, as the Montreal-based creative powerhouse looks to further expand globally and diversify its entertainment offering beyond circus arts.
What does this mean for Orlando, specifically Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World?
Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba is ending its run at Disney Springs on Dec 31 of this year, with no replacement currently announced. Blue Man Group currently performs at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk.
It is possible that a new Cirque/Blue Man Group show could end up replacing La Nouba. It would also make sense to pay attention to the recently cleared plot of land where Wet ‘n Wild once stood – as Universal Orlando continues to expand their Resort offerings.
Anything else beyond that is just speculation and rumor for now.
