February 23, 2014 – Hey everyone! We’re back with a photo update from Universal Studios Hollywood, this time detailing ongoing work at some of Universal’s parking lots (woo-hoo!), the future site of the Wizarding World, Simpsons Plaza, work on the Studio Tour and more.
So without further ado, let’s get started.
» Parking Lot
» The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
» The Studio Tour
» Simpsons Plaza
» Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem / Super Silly Fun Land
Oh boy, you knew it was coming. The much anticipated billion dollar addition to Universal’s attraction roster, Parking: The Ride – 1080p 3D, will finally debut in 2016…
But on a more serious note, beams for the Wizading World continue to be placed in front of the Curious George parking structure while the adjacent E.T. open-air parking lot prepares for its multi-level lot. Access to the E.T. lot has become restricted as crews continue to move in.
Cranes in the distance…
Construction crews ramping up in the E.T. lot.
Another photo…
Heading into the park, it doesn’t look like much has changed at the site of Wizarding World – at least to an untrained eye like mine. Crowds continue to be diverted through Animal Actors and the Special Effects Stage as the bulk of the Upper Lot remains under construction.
In the meantime, there’s nothing much to see here.
Wait a minute, do you notice something?
Pile 5. Hmm, maybe this is a hint that we’ll be getting that Christopher Walken experience after all.
After all, who wouldn’t want Christopher Walken threatening them in 3D…
Heading to Simpsons Plaza, it appears as if crews have already affixed the facade for the area’s new carnival games. Fast Food Boulevard, however, doesn’t look like it’ll be opening this year.
Bee-do time! With the ride essentially completed, attention as now been diverted to Super Silly Fun Land. And, as you can see, they’ve added some minions!
Bee-do, bee-do, bee-do…
[Bee-doing intensifies]
Uh oh, looks like someone is stuck.
“Not cool guys.”
“Help.”
Moving on to the Studio Tour, the mystery project occurring on at the former site of the Mummy’s Tomb continues to progress, while Jaws remains beached in the Amity lagoon.
Progress thus far at Jaws.
The former site of the Mummy’s Tomb is getting some curious activity. Future site of another Starbucks? I guess we’ll have to wait and see…
…and finally, we’ll leave you with a photo of the new logo currently being affixed to the Universal City Tower.
Anyhow, that does it for us. Be sure to stay with Inside Universal for continuing coverage of these projects and more originating from Universal Studios Hollywood. Thanks for reading, and be sure to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. Have a Comcastic day!
