August 2, 2013 – The Summer of Survival continues to march on as construction on Universal Plaza, Despicable Me and Halloween Horror Nights continues in the midst of the peak summer season. While nothing major has occurred since our last update in July, we have documented some progress on the aforementioned projects – including a small update on the NBCUniversal Experience.
So enough of me – let’s dig in.
Busy, busy.
They actually kept the tour running till 8:00 PM. Always eerie taking the tour at night.
Plaza’s progress…
The tower’s looking nice.
Archway under the tower?
Meanwhile, this structure seemed to have progressed rather quickly.
Looking good, huh?
Meanwhile, Despicable Me continues to go vertical.
The restrooms near the Simpsons also seems to be coming in nicely.
Like Plaza, they seem to be progressing at a rather sluggish pace.
Anyone know what maze this is? Edit: Evil Dead!
A bit of a side note: Mummy received a few new props. If you’re a box enthusiast, you should really check this out.
Spot anything new?
But seriously, does anyone spot anything new?
More maze construction on the backlot.
Back to Persian Courtyard.
Enhance…enhance.
That’s it for now. I apologize for the terse commentary, but there’s only so much I can say about wood and dirt without getting too repetitive. We’ll have further updates as work on Plaza, Despicable Me and Halloween Horror Nights progresses.
For now, be sure to check us out at USHForums.com, like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. If you have any comments or suggestions, feel free to leave them below. For now, thanks for reading and I’ll see in in the next update.
