Universal CityWalk kicks off the holiday season!

WHAT: Universal CityWalk’s month-long holiday celebration gets off to a fab start as soaring 14’ stilt walking Beatles, The Be-TALLS, join Santa Claus to ring-o in a spirited CityWalk’s City Rockin’ Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

The towering 40’ Christmas tree, decorated in 100,000 energy efficient LED lights will be animated to a dazzling display of choreographed music and visuals amid a flurry of falling snow. CityWalk’s giant City Rockin’ Christmas tree will light up Cinema Plaza treating guests to an impressive high-tech show brought to life with immersive holiday musical performances of Mariachi dancers from CityWalk’s Camacho Mexican restaurant and Brazilian dancers from CityWalk’s new Samba Brazilian Steakhouse and & Lounge. The event marks the beginning of a month-long seasonal gala featuring non-stop holiday entertainment.

The CityWalk holiday event will immerse guests in 35-day of festivities enhanced with decorations, an eclectic program of holiday-themed performances including jubilant choirs, live bands performing remixed seasonal classics, festive street performers, and a plethora of photo opportunities with Santa all while mistletoe dangles overhead for a quintessential merry “kiss-mass.” The holiday celebration will culminate with Southern California’s largest free New Year’s party bringing twice the excitement with twin countdowns at end of CityWalk and featuring a colorful firework display, confetti blasts, and live music to ring in 2010.
