ORLANDO, Fla. — There were some tense moments for passengers on a ride at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure Saturday afternoon. “Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges,” a water ride, was stuck at about 4 p.m.
Universal employees were able to get everyone off the ride.
Orlando Fire Department Commander Vicki Robles said crews went to the scene to stand by in case employees needed help. Robles said there were no injuries and everyone got off the ride OK. Universal Studios representative Tom Schroder said there was a technical stop of the ride, which happens when an anomaly is detected. He said the ride was checked out and is running again.
