Posted by Jon  Published in CityWalk, CityWalk Press Releases

Universal City, California – Twin countdown celebrations and breathtaking fireworks displays at each end of the Universal CityWalk® spectrum will provide crowds with unobstructed views of the action as the arrival of 2010 is celebrated at The Entertainment Capital of L.A. SM, Southern California’s favorite New Year’s destination.

The free event will feature alternating DJs with live music provided by bands Fast Times and ‘80s Rewind, positioned at each end of the two-and-a-half block long promenade, providing lively and continuous musical entertainment.

The celebration will begin promptly at 9:00 p.m. on December 31 with coverage of the iconic New York City Time Square ball drop displayed on two giant outdoor screens. At the stroke of midnight, thousands of pounds of colorful confetti will burst into the night sky, streaming colorfully over the crowds of New Year’s revelers.

CityWalk’s popular hot spots including the Jon Lovitz Comedy Club, Samba Brazilian Restaurant and Lounge, Hard Rock Café, Howl at the Moon, Jillian’s Hi-Life Lanes, Rumba Room, Camacho’s Cantina and Saddle Ranch Chop House will also offer live entertainment specials for New Year’s Eve.

Universal CityWalk will turn up the volume leading up to its eagerly awaited New Year’s Eve countdown bash with daily concert performances by such popular bands as The Pipers Down, The Beach Girls, The Wallburds, Ankhesenamen and The Bolts performing live on stage from December 26 – December 30.
