DreamWorks Theatre at Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood has announced DreamWorks Theatre, an all-new multi-sensory attraction designed to play host to a variety of DreamWorks Animation themed attractions, starting with the debut of Kung Fu Panda in 2018.

The new attraction is the first to utilize a DreamWorks character in an attraction since Comcast acquired the company last year.

Per Universal’s press release, the new “technologically-advanced attraction” will take guests on a “legendary journey that fuses captivating storytelling” with state-of-the art projection mapping and LED lighting effects.

As we reported last month, the attraction will be replacing Shrek 4-D; which is set to close in August.

In addition, more DreamWorks characters that will join Universal Studios Hollywood beginning in summer 2017 for Meet & Greets, including Kung Fu Panda’s Po and Tigress; Madagascar’s Alex the Lion, The Penguins—Skipper, Rico, Kowalski and Private, and King Julian; Trolls’ Poppy and Branch; Shrek’s Puss ‘n Boots will join existing characters Shrek and Fiona.
